My journey in the legal field began with a strong academic foundation at the University of Nairobi School of Law, where I earned my Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 1997, followed by a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law in 1998. I further enhanced my expertise by obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Trade and Investments Law from the University of Nairobi in 2016, demonstrating my commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), I've developed significant expertise in alternative dispute resolution, helping clients resolve complex legal issues efficiently. My additional qualifications as an Accredited Mediator, Notary Public, Commissioner for Oaths, and Certified Public Secretary allow me to provide comprehensive legal services to clients with diverse needs.

Leadership and Responsibilities

In my role as Managing Partner and Head of Litigation at Waweru Gatonye & Co. Advocates, I supervise and coordinate all litigation across Kenya's court system, from Magistrates Courts to the Supreme Court, as well as in specialized tribunals and alternative dispute forums. I personally handle complex matters at all court levels and oversee case preparation, documentation, and training of upcoming advocates within the firm.

In 2023, I completed a 40-Hour Mediation training at Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre, a course on The Practice in International Arbitration at SOAS University of London, and achieved Fellowship status with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators through their Accelerated Route to Fellowship program for Domestic Arbitration.
