Professional Background

Welcome to my legal platform. I am Munyalo Robinson Nthuli, a dedicated legal professional with over 25 years of experience in various aspects of law. I currently serve as the Managing Partner and Head of Litigation at Waweru Gatonye & Co. Advocates in Nairobi, Kenya, where I've been working since 1998.

My journey in the legal field began with a strong academic foundation at the University of Nairobi School of Law, where I earned my Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 1997, followed by a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law in 1998. I further enhanced my expertise by obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Trade and Investments Law from the University of Nairobi in 2016, demonstrating my commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), I've developed significant expertise in alternative dispute resolution, helping clients resolve complex legal issues efficiently. My additional qualifications as an Accredited Mediator, Notary Public, Commissioner for Oaths, and Certified Public Secretary allow me to provide comprehensive legal services to clients with diverse needs.

Areas of Expertise

My professional experience spans multiple legal disciplines, with particular focus on:

  • Corporate and Commercial Litigation: With over 25 years of post-qualification experience, I have successfully handled complex commercial disputes, contract negotiations, and corporate governance matters for both national and multinational corporations.
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution: As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an Accredited Mediator, I specialize in resolving disputes through arbitration and mediation, offering clients efficient alternatives to traditional litigation.
  • Insurance Law: I have extensive experience representing insurance companies in claims assessment, policy interpretation, and dispute resolution.
  • Constitutional and Administrative Law: I provide judicial review and legal advisory services on constitutional law and statutory interpretation matters.
  • Employment and Labor Law: I handle disputes involving employer-employee relationships, employee benefits, and managerial compensation.
  • Public Procurement Law: I assist clients with proceedings at the Public Procurement Review Board and related appeals.
  • Probate and Administration: I help clients navigate family disputes, particularly matrimonial issues, wills, and estate distribution.
  • Intellectual Property: I am conversant with drafting and registration of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

Leadership and Responsibilities

In my role as Managing Partner and Head of Litigation at Waweru Gatonye & Co. Advocates, I supervise and coordinate all litigation across Kenya's court system, from Magistrates Courts to the Supreme Court, as well as in specialized tribunals and alternative dispute forums. I personally handle complex matters at all court levels and oversee case preparation, documentation, and training of upcoming advocates within the firm.

My approach to legal practice combines rigorous analysis with practical, solution-oriented thinking. I believe that legal advice should not only be technically sound but also practical and aligned with clients' broader objectives.
